NO FCRA USE. Boyd County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency. The site and its advertising partners do not offer a service for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or another use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
1. What This Website Is
This private reference site is independent of every government office. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts an official check, or files papers for a visitor.
Its purpose is to identify the custodians of Boyd County records, including the sheriff, Nebraska courts, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect visitors to outside research tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use is permitted only if the visitor agrees not to:
- Interfere with service availability or another person's access
- Deploy scrapers, bots, or other automated collection tools
- Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
- Use site content for lending, insurance, housing, or hiring decisions
- Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
- Violate federal, Nebraska, or local law
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
No one may use information from the site or a linked tool to intimidate, discriminate against, threaten, stalk, or harass another person. Nebraska Sex Offender Registry data is provided for lawful public-safety awareness, not retaliation or vigilantism. Misuse can result in arrest and prosecution, and Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-4013 addresses penalties tied to misuse of registry information.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Boyd County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Site data and linked tools may not be used to:
- Make any other decision governed by the FCRA
- Determine access to a license, permit, or government benefit
- Set an insurance rate or judge creditworthiness
- Evaluate a rental or housing application
- Make a hiring or termination decision
A regulated purpose requires the appropriate official process through the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.
5. No Legal Advice
Site content is general information, not legal advice. A licensed Nebraska lawyer should address how a warrant, charge, conviction, or set-aside rule affects a particular person or case.
6. No Warranties
All content and services are offered "as is." No warranty is made that:
- An outside search tool will return a complete or correct result
- Pages contain no error, defect, or security weakness
- Access will remain continuous and uninterrupted
- Any item is complete, accurate, or current
Records can change when charges are filed or dismissed, access is sealed, or a conviction is set aside. Delays and gaps are possible. Only the maintaining court, sheriff, Nebraska State Patrol, or other government custodian can make an official statement about a record.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links can lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Nebraska agencies, legal resources, and independent search services. Those destinations are outside our control. Their availability, prices, privacy practices, terms, and content are their responsibility, so review their conditions before use.
8. Intellectual Property
Text, code, graphics, and logos belong to Boyd County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information obtained from either.
10. Indemnification
A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or proceeding caused by that visitor's use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.
11. Governing Law
Nebraska law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of Boyd County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in Nebraska.
12. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted on this page.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.
14. Severability
If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
15. Questions
Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
