Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company that provides the tool. That company handles the request and supplies its result. Boyd County Criminal History does not retain or log the terms entered through the tool.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept so that a response can be provided. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive basic technical and visit data:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Boyd County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Boyd County Sheriff, Nebraska courts, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a dossier about another person. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to data entered there. This policy does not govern those providers, so read the provider's own policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, sheriff pages, Nebraska agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy rules control. Review those rules before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and choose targeted ads. Their tracking is not operated by this site.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that place ads on site pages
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query submitted through their tool
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system is fully secure, however, and the site cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the law that applies to a visitor. Nebraska's Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, governs government records, while Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523 limits public dissemination of specified criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Object to certain forms of data processing
- Request deletion of personal data where the law permits
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request a copy of personal information held about them
